Guilt is a Son of a Motherless Goat

Guilt is a son of a motherless goat. (Btw I don’t really know what “son of a motherless goat” actually means, but I loved that quote in the movie “The Three Amigos” with Steve Martin, Chevy Chase and Martin Short. Plus, I’m trying hard not to swear. Anywho…)

You know what I’m talking about, don’t you? So often your brain has offered you awesome thoughts like “If only I had done something differently maybe he would have lived.” or “It should have been me instead of him.”

What is the upside to thinking these thoughts?

I’ll tell you… there isn’t one. When you think them you feel terrible. These thoughts hold you back, they keep you focused on the past and they don’t serve you.

These thoughts are optional. Let them go.

What’s done is done. It happened exactly the way it was supposed to happen. If it was supposed to be different, it would have been different.

Re-direct your mind to the present moment. That’s where your power is.
