Welcome, Widow…

Wishing you had an “easy button” to help you navigate grief?

This might sound familiar…
People keep telling you “They’re in a better place,” and “Just stay busy, the first year is the worst.”

But those words don't make you feel any better

You've survived the initial aftermath (minus the never-ending casseroles and thank you notes)

And now you're left figuring out how to pick up the pieces and keep going

You're starting to realize that what you thought you knew about grief doesn't seem to be helping

And you're wishing someone would just hand you a step-by-step guide

Let's face it... widowhood is hard. But I believe accurate information and the right tools make it easier.

Unfortunately, we live in a grief illiterate world and even the well-meaning people trying to help us are still operating on grief theories from the 1970s (ahem, 5 Stages of Grief, anyone?).

In fact, it’s a pretty sure bet that most advice you’re getting is actually making grief harder instead of easier. And even if you wanted to learn about it on your own,  it can be difficult to get accurate information, let alone tools that help. Plus there’s Widow Fog (yes, that’s a real thing) which can make reading and retaining information frustrating.

Sadly, most online searches lead to depressing stories about widows who are 5+ years out and still crying everyday. And it’s no surprise that you’re feeling lonely because there are very few people who understand what you’re going through. (And the person you’d normally talk to isn’t here anymore. Sigh.)

So, you put one foot in front of the other, hope that time will heal, and try to distract yourself from the emotional roller coaster you’re riding with food, work, wine, social media or sleep… all the while wondering if you’ll ever feel like yourself again.

If even a tiny portion of this sounds familiar, I want you to know that you’re not alone, none of this is your fault and there is an easier way.

a few weeks from now, you can be:

If I hadn’t done it myself, I probably wouldn’t believe it was possible.

After my husband, Hugo, was killed by a drunk driver when I was 40, I realized that everything I thought I knew about grief wasn’t making it any easier. I had no idea what a full body and overwhelming experience grief was really going to be. And while I was surrounded by well-meaning people, no one could really relate.

Sadly, I didn’t benefit from accurate information about grief, or learn the tools I now teach, until much later. And now, having supported thousands of widows since 2018, it’s my mission to make sure you have an easier experience of widowhood than I did.

Designed especially for widows, Grief Essentials offers the perfect combination of powerful tools and support, along with accurate information about grief, so widowhood gets easier.

How Grief Essentials Helps:

On Day 1, you’ll learn the truth of what’s happening in your brain and body during grief and come away with concrete strategies you can use to help yourself. We’ll bust some of the most common grief myths that hold widows back and make sure you have the accurate and up-to-date information you need.

By week 2, you’ll understand how to regulate your Nervous System so intense emotions can flow through with less suffering and more ease. This new skill will permanently improve your experience of grief. Big emotions will seem less daunting and you’ll feel more confident and less anxious about what’s ahead.

In subsequent calls you’ll come away feeling prepared to deal with everything from Secondary Losses and unexpected Grief Grenades to awkward conversations at the grocery story and making decisions in grief.

You’ll learn how to support yourself so you feel less anxious and overwhelmed, and how to feel comfortable asking for and receiving help so you can get what you need (even when you’re not exactly sure what that is).

We’ll create a plan to ensure the oxygen mask gets put on you first because grief is a marathon, not a sprint. (Yes, it’s cliche AND it’s important.) Once you’re better able to take care of yourself, you’ll be better able to take care of those you love.

By the time you’re done with Grief Essentials your experience of grief will be so much easier because you’ll have exactly what you didn’t even know you needed.

It's easier than you might think:

What Clients are Saying...

The information you will get with Krista’s program will help you understand and move through those devastating early days of grief and loss, without trying to escape from the hard feelings. You will learn tools that will help calm down your nervous system when you feel like nothing will mitigate the pain. But probably the best thing is you will have a community and the support you need from a group of people who really get it, who have your back and with whom you can be completely real.

I love working with Krista. The work I have done with her is so different than work I did with my counselor after my husband died. Krista has given me many tools that not only serve me when dealing with grief, but also help me when dealing with myself, my feelings, my relationships, and has prepared me for difficult times that will inevitably come in the future.

Working with Krista has been so empowering! I love her style of coaching which I'd describe as kind and caring yet no nonsense. I feel very comfortable talking about anything with her and genuinely feel she not only understands but really is a friend who wants the best for me. Somehow she always has a way to positively affect the person she is coaching!

I wish I’d found Krista earlier in my grief. The first few weeks and months after the sudden death of my husband, aged 38, were intense and felt very overwhelming. I survived with a mix of avoidance and pure determination to ‘keep going’ for our one year old son. Tools I’ve since learned in her coaching program have been invaluable to me now at 5.5 years after his death, but would have had such a powerful effect on me in those early days.

Perhaps you're wondering...

The program is powerful and one-of-a-kind. If you are honest and apply what we teach, you will be amazed at how much easier grief will get! If it doesn’t make your grief easier, we’ll give you a refund.

We get it. Some people just want to talk about how awful it is to be a widow. This program is not about perpetual pity-parties. We believe in acknowledging that it’s hard and then deciding to be women who do hard things. Widows join because they aren’t willing to let their loss define them. That said, all emotions are welcome and it’s ok if you cry. We’re just not going to stay stuck in the sadness.

This program is 8 weeks long and designed with busy widows in mind. All you need to do is watch the weekly call, ask questions if you have them and start applying what you learn.

We hear you and many widows have the same concern. For this reason, each participant agrees, in writing, to hold in confidence what is shared in the course. Plus, you are welcome to ask for anonymous support if that’s what feels best to you. We do our best to ensure that what happens in Grief Essentials, stays in Grief Essentials.
